I believe the best method to justify this is by saying a place at the airport where there's surpluses of seating couches, chairs, tables, charging Outlets, free hot and cold coffee as well as a fridge full of to-go drinks. Once you get in it's your own small heaven and they help you with whatever you're looking for.

Are airport lounges really worth it?

I would still certainly say yes and this is primarily three reasons why:

While I was in Mexico it revolves out that my flight got delayed and it got delayed for about an hour or two and within that time that airport was not the best one in the world, it's pretty insane as a bunch of people moving around and I honestly had entry to three different airport lounges all for free and it made a whole world of a difference.

Quick little tip: if you want to find flights that don't get postponed usually try to book those flights way earlier on in the morning, because as time goes on late afternoon flights usually get postponed just because people are slow little hiccups happen and I've witnessed that the portion of my flights getting delayed in the morning is far smaller than at night.

 

What lounges are the Best

There's just a few leading ones that you require to know about:

1. American Express Centurion Lounge 

So normally these lounges have existed known to have really promising amenities but they include now their own share of difficulties too. Around the past few years American Express interior lounges harbor been dealing with the crisis of being overcrowded and waiting in long lines, with the most current changes though that they created on the platinum card and the updated guest policy this should now get promising over time because now if you have a guest, unless you're disbursing $75,000 a year on one of your platinum cards, you would have to then reimburse an additional $50 to bring them in. Bottom line: The amenities are tremendous and you don't have to bother about it being overcrowded. It's also spicing up the game and leveling up the bar for some of these other companies to make sure that these lounges are a good luxurious adventure rather than another place of chaos 

 

3. The Priority Pass Lounge

This is an exhibition of a thousand different lounges all around the planet now. Although these priority pass lounges may not be the best in the world there are still some unique bonuses that they have that some of these other lounges don't, as an instance there are things like the "Priority Pass Restaurant Collection" where you can get free food on a high level some also have access to sleep pods and short stay hotels to authorize you to get even more rest. Normally priority pass allows you to bring one other guest in with you.

What I also love about priority pass is that you can also obtain a digital card so you don't need to be carrying around that ID card with you, once you sign up you can always just access it from your phone when you pull up to any one of the priority pass lounges, which are pretty common all around the US, all you have to do is go in and scan that small QR code and you're good to go.

4. The Chase Sapphire lounges 

Identical to Capital One they've been coming up they've been financing and these lounges have been looking sensational. So Capital One has been accomplishing a great job with the ones that I've seen functional, so that one is in Boston, the other one is in Hong Kong, they're putting together one in Las Vegas, they're making one in New York City, Philadelphia, etc. To access the Chase Sapphire Lounge you need to have the Chase Sapphire Reserve which has a relatively High annual fee or you can use your priority pass to get into those lounges too and for a membership for the priority pass it's proceeding to be about $99 a year all the way up to $469 a year relying on how much you travel.

5. The Plaza Premium Lounge 

These here are geared more towards being super basic corresponded to the rest that we've talked about, with this Lounge you can bring up to two visitors and in total there's about 165 Plaza premium locations all around the world.

3. The Chase Sapphire Reserve 

With this card here you have entry to the Chase Sapphire lounges, the priority pass membership and I love the Chase Sapphire Reserve, the sapphire Reserve has an annual fee of $550 per year, so a slight bit more than the Capital One Venture X but a little bit less than the American Express Platinum Card. This credit card here provides you with a 60,000 Point welcome bonus offer and on top of that you get a ton of free credits to add onto the perks of this being one of the better travel cards as well now.

4. U.S Bank One 

This card here carries a $400 annual fee but it also gets you a ton of entry to Great earning rates and benefits. One of those usefulness is that you get access to four complimentary visits to Priority Pass lounges as well as four complimentary guest passes, now in comparison to some of the other cards we spoke of the benefit is not as great particularly for the $400 you're paying, I think you can get a satisfactory offer within the category of lounges but this credit card is still one to consider because they offer you 50,000 points as a welcome bonus, you get a variety of diverse categories that you can get your money back on now.

5. The American Express Green Card 

This is a card that you might not have contemplated but for someone who's starting up to travel early on I still think it's well worth contemplating on with a smaller annual fee of $150 and a smaller welcome bonus offer of 40,000 points.

I do believe some of the other cards that we spoke of are much better credit cards but if you truly are a beginner within the space and you're just trying to put your feet into the doors of this whole world the green card is not a horrible card to get started with either. 

Personally for me though I think the Chase Sapphire Preferred is a much better alternative just because you still get money back on travel rewards and it also unlocks the door up for other Chase products which I still believe is one of the best within the space. 

Your miles may differ if you're someone who truly likes going to Boston, the Chase Sapphire card is going to make sense but say you never go to Boston and you like going to a specific airport that has a specific Lounge you may want to assess that American Express Green card instead.

So do your own study and see which airport is one that you're gonna constantly visit frequently for me that Capital One Lounge is making it very competitive and me wanting to cancel or get rid of my platinum card.
